This is a 400,000 sf high-end outlet mall on 50 acres along Interstate 5 and adjacent to the Tulalip Casino. Phase I consisted of six buildings for 120 tenants. To meet the tight schedule Deacon devised a construction plan utilizing the resources of five superintendents with each supervising a crew and group of subcontractors working on the project from the center outwards in all directions. The innovative building design incorporates tensile canopies over storefronts and plazas to create a unique identity and sense of destination for this mall. Phase II was an expansion built immediately after this very popular mall opened for business, therefore maintaining safety and traffic flow was a priority in planning this 22,000 sf phase. Phase III added two tilt-up buildings totaling 100,000 sf and included utility relocation.
Additionally, a temporary graveled parking area, with lighting, was constructed to accommodate employees while a new two-story 380,000 sf cast-in-place parking garage was under construction. Sitework included parking, lighting and landscaping as well as several fountains. Since these expansions, Deacon has completed multiple tenant improvements and repair work for this outlet mall.
